Abstract
The high prevalence and increasing the intensity of the main dental diseases in women during pregnancy is a big social problem. The effect of enhancing production of hormones during pregnancy affects the dentition, which increases the risk of dental disease. A major role in local immunity play an antimicrobial peptides, for regulating inflammatory processes and initiate an immune response. The present study investigates the dynamics of antimicrobial peptides in dental pathology in pregnant women. Pregnant women suffering from dental caries, a marker of activity of the process of local factors is lactoferrin. Patients with periodontitis mild to moderate increase in joint lactoferrin and C-reactive protein levels in saliva have been an indicator of high studied pathogenetic significance of dental disease in pregnancy.
