Vanda coerulea Griff. ex Lindl. is a popular orchid known worldwide for its horticultural and commercial importance, being used mainly in cut flower and potted plant industries. It is not only valuable as an ornamental plant but is also known for its therapeutic properties for curing various diseases. Its economic importance has led to mass collection leading to a rapid decline from its natural habitat. It has been enlisted as endangered in Red Data Sheet on Indian Orchidaceae and Appendix II of CITES. So, conservation of this species is very necessary to protect it in wild and further to propagate it for commercial uses. This paper deals with conservation of Vanda coerulea through various propagation methods using seeds as well as different plant parts of seedling as explants.
