Mucuna pruriens Linn. is a leading Indian medicinal plant, which has long been used, in traditional Ayurvedic Indian medicine for diseases including parkinson. This plant has wide pharmacological activities like anti-inflammatory, antidiabetic, antineoplastic, aphrodisiac, antiepileptic, antimicrobial activities etc., A large no studies have been done on the phytochemical constituents of this plant. Many traditional uses like nerve tonic, in rheumatic disorders, for impotency and to promote fertility and it also cures wet dreams, seminal weakness and spermatorrhea, antivenin, as an aphrodisiac, as a emmenagogue, in persistent coughs, as a nervine, indiarrhoea, used in gonorrhea, diabetes, and snakebite whichis obtained from the parts like seed, pods, roots, leaf of the plant.
