Abstract

Mimosa pudica L. was widely used in the treatment of disease. Therefore, we aimed to investigate the biological activity of M. pudica. The analysis of the standard compound mimosine was as curtained in UV, Spectrum and FTIR analysis. Free radical scavenging activity of M. pudica root extracts and mimosine was also compared using 2, 2-diphenyl“1-picrylhydrazylradical scavenging assay (DPPH). Cell feasibility and cytotoxicity on the Lacell isevaluatein trypan blue and 3-(4, 5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2, 5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) assays within amount along with time-dependent manner respectively. Antibacterial activity against Gram positive and Gram negative pathogenic bacteria were procured collection of Esherichia coli, Bacillus subtilis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Staphylococcus aureus was firm by an agar well diffusion method. The results of the present study can be functional for the classification and research of a monograph of the plant.
