Abstract

Long term sustainability of the costal ecology depends on the fluvial processes that supply and
maintain dominant macrophytes through the regulation of the elevation required for propagation and
survival of specific marine ecology in the coasts. (Morris et al, 2002; Pennings and Bertness, 2001)
The ecology of the coast is therefore a product of a number of interrelated factors such as the rate of
relative sea level rise, (resulting from relative local subsidence and the eustatic change) sediment
supply, and tide range (Morris et al. 2002, Stenvenson et al 1986, Reed, 1995).
