Handoff calls are mostly given more priority in channel allocation to guarantee loss of call and produce required quality of service (QoS) in a wireless mobile network. This paper presents the use of fuzzy logic to determine the performance of handoff calls and a design for high handoff decision procedure that exploit attractive features of several existing methods and allow systematic tradeoffs among different system characteristics. This proposed method allows an organized tuning of the handoff parameters to provide a balanced tradeoff among different system characteristics. The fuzzy logic toolboxes, which run under MATLAB 7.0 environment was used to implement and evaluate the proposed method. The developed system eliminates the handoff problems encountered in mobile communication network in order to improve network performance.
