This chapter assess the effect of Neurobics and Sanskar Remodelling in Diabetic management. Life style modification in relation to obesity, eating habit, and physical exercise can play a major role in the prevention of diabetes. Nowadays, there has been progress in the development of behavioural strategies to modify these life style habits and it is not easy to accept for long term basis.
This was a intervention, nonrandomised, pre and post study, conducted in the Department of Physiology, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Wardha. In this study, 210 patients were recruited and only 63 were eligible for the study group. The control group was selected from population, comprising of 57 patients. Blood sugar (FBS, PPBS), waist circumference (WC) and body mass index (BMI) was studied in both the groups.
Observational studies have provided firm evidence that multiple life style intervention decreases the risk of type 2 diabetes. Between the pre- and post-test results of the study group, there was a statistically significant decline in WC, BMI, FBS, and PPBS. A statistically significant difference was observed when comparing the two groups.
It is concluded that Life style modification programme used in our study like Neurobics and Sanskar Remodelling has a role in the management of body mass index in Diabetic patients.
