Abstract

The Chapter opens with the claim that personal Aggression, Violence and Hostility became permanent visitors in our place. This sad situation was the main reason for writing this paper, but due to the Authors' experience, it refers mainly to US and Europe. The Author's main reason for writing this chapter is to awakening readers, Governments and other relevant institutions, to the potential danger hidden in the easy disregarding and negligence of this threat.

Postmodernism is trendy, even though its appeal is strongest among the younger generation within IR theory and the social sciences in general. Its claim to constitute a theory is disputed, to say the least; its connotations are unclear; and its explanatory value remains to be proven, to put it mildly. After a short historical review, the author contrasts the chaotic world perception of the 21st Century with the previously well-organized 20th Century. The Author also points out that the 20th Century saw the deaths of tens of millions of people in two World Wars and the Cold War, which split the world into two sizable blocs. The essay also illustrates how the present century is different in this regard. No-more big world-wide armed conflicts, but many end-less small disturbing disorders, violent and terror cases in the industrialist Nations. The difference referred also to the personal prominence of the leaders of the wars. The eminence Winston Churchill – the great outstanding leader of the West, Joseph Stalin – the sadist Communist Dictator who killed tenths millions, and Adolf Hitler - the mentally-ill Tyrant of the Nazi regime who was a horrendous, barbaric and murderer of millions. The criminals and terrorists of today are sick, confused, and weak people`who, in contrast to these leaders, crave for attention. According to the author's additional statements, every normal community contains a small minority group that includes this tiny portion of criminals. The Author assumes that criminal Violence and Terror expand at present, in US and Europe as a result of three reasons: (1) The termination of political debates due to the political parties' deterioration, (2) A wrong interpretation of the 21st Century Post-modern chaotic order, and (3) An erroneous feeling on the proper meaning of the value of Equality. This wrong approach that springs from envy and jealousy leads to seek some compensations in wrong places and events. The Author supports countries' current initiative for fighting against present terrorists by establishing special Polce and Military units, which know the job, professionally and effectively. However, for resolving the issue at the future, and improving the treatment of this sick phenomenon, the Author emphasizes the need to collect reliable information about the relevant population and its personal weaknesses. It is perceived that most violent and terror activities, in the West, are initiated and carried out by sick, twisted and less-balanced people, who seek publicity, recognition and sometime even revenge. As Violence and Terrorism are proactive initiatives, so should be public reaction – imaginative, brave, smart and decisive. Almost every initiative is justified for eradicating this trouble-making danger.
